For Bacon Escape 2, I worked on environment art for many of the levels. It's composed of a tile based system that randomizes the background assets, so I had to create variations of different tiles that all could work together and then define how often a tile shows up. This is a collection of some of the background tiles created for the Redwood theme, rendered in Maya with Arnold.
Artist Eric Eneback created the style for the game and main assets (like the fern treees, camping tent) for the theme, and I expanded on his work and created more variations and tiles. I love the lowpoly style Eric created, and it was great fun to try to imagine things you might find (and not find!) in the redwood forests.
All assets was modeled in Maya and textured with a single gradient based atlas.
